Cold drawing of round or square bars can meet several objectives.
On the one hand, this technology makes it possible to obtain long length bars that do not exist in usual catalogs while ensuring minimal loss of material. Particularly useful when the material is rare or expensive, reducing losses results in a reduction in CO2 emissions.
The work hardening provided by the cold drawing operations also makes it possible to adapt the performance of the material to customer needs. Whether delivered "as drawn" (+C) or after light stress relief (+SR), we can adapt the performance of carbon steel, stainless steel, copper and super-alloy bars (like Inconel) to demand !
All our bars are made following the same quality processes as our aeronautical tubes and can even be delivered accompanied by aeronautical certificates such as AIR9160C or any other specific standards.
All our bar production is done on demand but Osborn Metals has a stock of 15CDV6, 35NC6, 25CD4S, 826M40, 15-5PH bars...
