Let’s talk about 826M40

826M40 grade steel is a 2.5% nickel, 0.7% chromium and 0.6% molybdenum through hardening steel which has a high hardenability.
After hardening, with tensile strengths ranging from 925 to over 1550 MPa, this steel has a good ductility.
Thanks to the high molybdenum content, the steel may normally be tempered in the range 500-660°C without serious loss of impact values. Close from the UK Standard EN26 | European Grade 40NiMoCr10-5 | Werkstoff 1.6745, the typical applications of 826M40 grade steel are : Aero-engine and airframe parts, crankshafts, transmission parts, electrical motor shafts…
As for all our high-performance tubes in 15CDV6, 25CD4S, 35CD4, or 4130, Osborn Metals is glad to be able to manufacture and heat treat to demand the 826M40 tubes to the higher standards of quality.
