Finishing

The products manufactured at Osborn Metals are typically delivered in long lengths, that is to say between 2m and 8m, and as-drawn (therefore delivered with a thin layer of drawing lubricant) or most often phosphatized/oiled in order to guarantee minimal protection of the products.

Osborn Metals is able to offer a number of options on products such as :

– grinding or polishing the outer diameter of the tubes to obtain a bright finish or optimize the surface condition
– honing the inside diameter of the tubes to optimize the surface condition
– cutting to length (for parts from 20mm to 2000mm)
– deburring
– sandblasting
– 100% unit control of parts (diameter, runout, etc.)
– additional tests such as tensile tests, micrographs, grain size measurements, etc.
– as well as all very specific quality controls such as penetrant testing or magnetic particle testing (carried out by approved aeronautical partners)

In addition, and to adapt to the most demanding customers, a range of surface treatments done internally or subcontracted to partners can be carried out such as galvanizing, zinc plating, painting, etc.
